Supporting Mental Well-being in the Job Search Journey
Job seeking is a stressful experience for anyone, especially for those with a foreign background. The experience is marked by financial insecurity, residency status insecurity, language barriers, lack of social and familial support, discrimination, and more.

Well-being While Job Seeking is an engaging and interactive workshop designed to help immigrant job seekers understand and strengthen their mental well-being throughout their employment journey.
This workshop provides practical tools, guided discussions, and group activities to help participants recognize the impact of job seeking on their mental health, shift perspectives, and develop strategies for self-care. By incorporating a cross-cultural lens, we acknowledge the unique challenges immigrants face and empower them with the knowledge and resources to maintain their well-being while actively looking for work.

About the facilitator

Like many others, my integration process—still ongoing—has been marked by periods of loneliness, frustration, and depression. The instability of inconsistent employment has been a particularly challenging aspect, and it’s one of the key reasons I felt compelled to create this workshop.
I’m deeply passionate about mental health and committed to supporting migrants as they navigate the unique pressures of job seeking and integration in Finland. This workshop, Well-being While Job Seeking, is designed to create space for understanding while giving tools for resilience and managing the challenges of being a job seekers together.
